The X Factor is no stranger to 'fix' allegations, and this year's series is no different.

This time it's former contestant Joe Conaboy, who appeared in the band Kingsland Road in series 10 – he has reportedly been airing his grievances about the reality show over on Twitter.

Although his account is now private, the Daily Star has obtained screenshots of the singer's tweets that appear to call the popular ITV series "a fix".

Addressing some fans' claims that elements of the show are 'faked' or orchestrated by the producers, Conaboy is said to have written: "How are people so surprised about this?"

"When will people realise how it affects those involved and how FAKE it is?" he added in another tweet.

Digital Spy has reached out to The X Factor and ITV for comment.

Despite the inevitable controversy, fans at home have been enjoying the latest round of X Factor auditions – not least because of one hopeful's impressive Eurovision connections.

Slavko Kalezić, who represented Montenegro in this year's contest, took to the dreaded audition room after being encouraged by none other than Louis Walsh himself.

"We met [in] Ukraine at Eurovision," Louis explained. "Slavko was representing Montenegro. I saw him backstage and said, 'You should do X Factor'."

Unsurprisingly, viewers were pretty thrilled he did.

The X Factor continues this Saturday (September 30) on ITV.
