An immersive Formula 1 experience where petrolheads can get behind the wheel is coming to London's ExCel Centre next month.

Six purpose built rooms at the Royal Victoria Dock venue will explore the defining and iconic moments from the sport through a mix of never before seen photos, video footage, artefacts, and interviews, as well as iconic cars belonging to the likes of Lewis Hamilton.

Opening on August 23, visitors will be able to get up close and personal to motoring history, including the burnt out remains of Romain Grosjean’s burnt out Haas chassis from his infamous 200mph crash at Bahrain in 2020.

A design lab takes fans into the workshop to explore how McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes make sportscars, whilst a history tour tracks the beginnings of Formula 1, from 1950 to now.

Now in its fourth location, the London show will pay tribute to the British Grand Prix. Working in partnership with the Silverstone Museum, the stories of those who made Britain the home of racing will come to life.

In a European first, visitors will also be able to sit in a state of the art simulator and experience what it's like to zoom around the Silverstone track in an F1 car. Every racer will be entered into a monthly prize draw to win tickets for the 2025 British Grand Prix.

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, said: “It’s fitting to bring The F1 Exhibition to the UK capital and pay tribute to the British teams and drivers and personalities who have etched themselves into F1 history.

“The F1 Exhibition has been incredibly popular since its launch in Madrid, and successful runs in Vienna and Toronto prove that it is a great way to engage with both hardcore fans and new audiences, whilst extending F1’s reach beyond the racetrack. London is one of the most cultural vibrant cities in the world, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from around the world to the show.”

The best option in terms of public transport is to catch the Elizabeth line to Custom House, or the DLR to Prince Regent or Custom House for ExCel.

Adult tickets start at £25 and entry for those under 16 is £14. For more information or to buy tickets, visit www.f1exhibition.com.
