Yahoo News Fortnite Season 6 is dropping this week – here’s everything you need to know
Fortnite Battle Royale’s newest season is dropping later this week and we think there’s going to be a DJ llama.
The new season was supposed to go live last week, but Fortnite creators Epic Games opted instead to delay, confirming this week it's set to come out on Thursday.
Unlike previous releases, Epic has not revealed many of the new season's details, so we’ve had to pick through the hints amd rumours to find out what’s actually going on.

Fortnite Season 6: release date
Fortnite’s latest season release date is Thursday 27 September - that is, two days from now.
Before the new season drops, Fortnite always undergoes some downtime, which means you probably won’t be able to play late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning ahead of the update.
What is the theme of Season 6?
All Epic is giving away is that the robot DJ llamas are coming. On the official Fortnite Twitter feed, Epic said “All great parties need a DJ” with an image of a purple-light covered robot DJ llama.

It looks like this new robot could be a skin for players to purchase, to have as their main outfit on the game. It might also be a nod to this season’s theme, which focuses on parties.
Not only that, but we believe the purple hue might link to the cube that appeared in the game back in August - before it melted into Loot Lake and transformed the water into a massive purple trampoline.
Fortnite Season 6 map changes
Due to the impact the big cube has had on Loot Lake, it appears this might be where we see some map changes in Season 6.
One theory is that the big cube could teleport a city in from the future, which would alter the map completely.
Whatever Epic has up its sleeves, we're certain it'll be interesting.
What do I need to do before Fortnite Season 6?
Make sure you complete all the final Season 5 challenges before the game goes down for the update.
