South Sydney Rabbitohs have their eyes on four current Super League props as their head of rugby lands in the UK. Mark Ellison is in the country as part of the NRL club's recruitment plans moving forward, and reports suggest he has identified a number of players they are keen to secure.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the player at the top of that list is St Helens youngster George Delaney, who has made a terrific start to his Super League career after making his debut last year. The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the best young players in the competition since then and it hasn't gone unnoticed down under. Delaney is contracted until the end of 2026.

Another player mentioned is Tom Amone, the Leigh Leopards forward, who previously played for the Bunnies before coming to the UK. Amone has been a revelation since arriving in the country, helping Leigh win the Challenge Cup for the first time in over half a century and he was named in Super League's Dream Team last year.

It's a worrying prospect for both Saints and the Leopards. Lewis Dodd is already heading to the Rabbitohs next year and the loss of another young talent would be a concern, though Souths would have to pay a transfer fee, while for Leigh, Amone is one of several high-profile players off-contract at the end of the year. The likes of John Asiata, Ricky Leutele, Zak Hardaker and Matty Davis are also off-contract. Rugby League Live understands Leutele and Hardaker have been offered to rival clubs recently. Kai O'Donnell and Lachlan Lam are also believed to have options in their contracts.

Wigan's Tyler Dupree and Leeds' Tom Holroyd are also mentioned as potential targets, while there have been reports in Australia that the likes of Steve McNamara and Adrian Lam could be on their radar to replace Jason Demetriou, who was removed from his post last week.
