France cancels Sudan's $5 billion debt

At a summit for Sudan, France says it will cancel Khartoum's $5 billion debt in a bid to bolster the African nation's transition to democracy following the 2019 toppling of longtime strongman Omar al-Bashir. Also, Jacob Zuma says he is ready for his corruption trial although it was quickly adjourned after opening on Monday. The former South African president faces charges of corruption and money laundering.
