Free Mother’s Day events and ticket discounts in London this weekend
Mothering Sunday is fast approaching and there are lots of options for activities you can share with your mum in London on March 19.
The day is held three Sundays before Easter Day and is an event that has been in calendars for generations, as people look to treat their mothers.
And in London, there are plenty of options that are either completely free, or there is no charge for the mother.
Here are some of the options we found. All events or activities are on Sunday, March 19, 2023, except where noted.

This adventure game based on the Arthur Conan Doyle detective is created by those behind the BBC series which starred Benedict Cumberbatch.
“Solve mysteries, uncover clues, and put your skills of deduction to the test in the exclusive immersive escape room and new outdoor game,” a statement says.
And mums can go free. A tweet said: “We're treating mums to a free ticket for Sherlock: The Official Live Game, Private Experience this Mother's Day!
“Simply use the code: 'MUMSGOFREE' at checkout when booking any timeslot between 14 - 19 March.”
Prices are from £40 for everyone else, and is for four to six players, and can booked at the site.
Mother’s Day brunch
Vorwerk in Kingston is offering a free interactive Thermomix workshop.
Participants can make breakfast scones, mulled wine bellini, and yogurt-custard toast with bacon.

Afro Caribbean Market
Taking place on Saturday, March 18, Wembley’s Afro Caribbean Market in St Michael’s Avenue is hosting a free Mother’s Day special.
Hosts will be thanking community mother-figure champions and there will be girts, and welcoming canapés and drinks.
On offer is a range of pampering products and services, which aren’t free.

Disco night in Brixton
Pop Brixton has lined up a free club night from 6pm to 11pm, with DJs including Rickstar and Freshmedz. On 49 Brixton Station Road. Book here.
Pamper Day
Laura Mercier, within John Lewis Oxford Street, is offering complimentary hand and arm massages to all mums on March 18 and 19.
“Give your mum the gift of relaxation and show her how much you care,” said a statement for the service. It will run from noon to 6pm on the Saturday and noon to 4.30pm on Sunday.

Climb for free
Substation Brixton is offering mums the chance to to climb for free this Mother’s Day. Alongside this, Substation is challenging climbers to ‘complete the pinks’, climb all the pink routes in the centre, fill out a pink slip from reception, and Substation will donate £2 to Breast Cancer UK for every pink slip received.
Substation is also hosting a special Women’s Circle class in their yoga studio from noon to 1.30pm.
