Free pints up for grabs for fans watching Euros in Newcastle this weekend

As we still hope that football might be actually be coming home and that England might deliver a fully convincing performance against Switzerland, there will be some free pints up for grabs at a Newcastle bar, whether you need them to celebrate or commiserate.

England left it VERY late on Sunday to secure their place in the last eight, with an acrobatic strike from Jude Bellingham levelling things up against Slovakia, with less than 90 minutes left of added on time. Having rescued things right at the death, things then got even better for the Three Lions when Harry Kane headed in the winner right at the start of extra time.

That set Gareth Southgate's men up for a quarters tie against Switzerland, who have been one of the 'surprise packages' of Euro 2024, having seen off reigning champions Italy with ease at the weekend.

Bars and fan zones in Newcastle have been very busy over the tournament so far and one place that has been attracting good crowds is The Wonder Bar. A popular haunt with NUFC supporters on match days, The Gate venue has also eastrabl;ishjed itself as one of the best places to go in town for an England game as well.

And, just like it did last week, The Wonder Bar is teaming up with Heineken to give fans supporting any of the countries left in the Euros, a the chance to claim a free 'replacement' pint, should one of theirs be knocked over. All drinkers have to do is scan a QR code that can be found on bespoke beer mats and posters around the bar.

This will take them to the HeineCare homepage where all they’ll have to do is input some basic information. They’ll then instantly receive a voucher to show to bar staff to claim their replacement pint.
