US star Alfonso Ribeiro has quashed rumours of a potential Fresh Prince of Bel Air reunion.

Ribeiro, who played Will Smith’s cousin Carlton Banks on the hit Nineties TV series, told TMZ: "There ain't going to be no Fresh Prince nothing."

His denial comes just weeks after DJ Jazzy Jeff, who played Smith’s best friend Jazz, whipped up revival rumours by revealing that the show’s stars were ‘in talks’.

"There have been talks with people about doing something” he told The Sun. "I think it would be cool if they did it and go down memory lane again."

Ribeiro revealed he was unsure why Jazzy Jeff had made the remarks, commenting: "I don’t know why Jeff was saying it but I know there ain’t nothing going on."

The 45-year-old also had a strong message for fans still dreaming of seeing their favourite sitcom back on screens, appearing to shut down any hope for a future reunion.

“Let it go," he said. "They just need to let it go.”

Ribeiro sparked speculation back in March that a revival was in the works by posting a picture of himself and some of his Fresh Prince ‘family’ including Smith, Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid and Karyn Parsons.

In the caption he paid tribute to co-star James Avery, who died in 2013.

“Always amazing to spend an afternoon with my Fresh Prince family," it read. "Wishing James Avery was still with us to make this complete.”
