Full line-up for Durham Brass Festival 2024 revealed

The full list performers set to take part in this year's Durham Brass Festival has been revealed.

The week-long festival will kick off this Friday on July 5.

With a lineup packed with internationally acclaimed artists as well as local favourites, the festival promises a full week of brass band favourites.

Cllr Elizabeth Scott of Durham County Council said: "We are now just a matter of days away from this year’s Durham Brass Festival and we are so excited to be doing it all again.

"We’ve got an amazing line-up with Public Service Broadcasting teaming up with County Durham’s own NASUWT Riverside Band for a performance inspired by coal mining, 40 years on from the strikes, within our World Heritage Site at Durham Cathedral.

"We also hope businesses and our economy will benefit from the numbers of people Brass brings into our city, and towns and villages over the course of the week."

Public Service Broadcasting gets Brass Festival underway on Friday (July 5) performing a set which explores how the collapse of mining impacted local communities. Tickets for this event are sold out.

The streets of Durham City will resonate with the sound of live music on Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7 as the ever-popular Streets of Brass makes its return. This will see eclectic and exciting street bands from the UK and beyond perform free of charge at locations across the city from 11am both days, ending at 4pm on the Saturday and 5pm on the Sunday.

The festival, organised by Durham County Council, is set to conclude on Saturday, July 13.

From live music on the city streets to special concerts at different venues across different outdoor locations in County Durham, the festival promises a packed schedule for all attendees.

The festival asserts Durham's reputation as the 'Culture County' and aligns with the local council’s commitment to culture-led regeneration.
