The county's secondary schools have been ranked according to pupils' progress. Research from the School Attainment Report by Online Marketing Surgery and others has found that Chesterton Community College comes out on top.

The scores measure the progress made from the end of Key Stage Two (years three to six) to the end of Key Stage Four (years ten and 11). The School Attainment Report doesn't include special education schools.

Rankings are calculated by taking a pupil's best-scoring subjects at GCSE alongside maths, English, and the sciences, and working out their attainment on average compared to their peers in primary school. The data is taken from 2023's results.

The average score is set at zero, with those higher than zero showing that the progress was better than average. When a score is below zero, it means less progress has been made than what is expected.

Chesterton Community College on Gilbert Road achieved the best score, of 1.04. This academy was also judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted in its latest report, which described students' "positive attitudes to learning" and "good-humoured relationships" with teachers.

Littleport and East Cambs Academy, which was closed in August last year after an 'inadequate' 2022 Ofsted inspection, gained a score of -0.89, the worst in the county. Neale-Wade academy is listed as worst school that is still open.
