Coventry's best schools for progression have been revealed in a new study. The School Attainment Report, created by Online Marketing Surgery ranks secondary schools in Coventry based on their average Progress 8 score.

This score measures the progress that pupils make from the end of Key Stage 2 to the end of Key Stage 4. Key Stage 2 is known as Years 3 to 6, while Key Stage 4 is known as Years 10 and Year 11.

Progress 8 is calculated by taking a pupil's best-scoring subjects at GCSE alongside Maths, English, and the sciences and working out their attainment on average compared to their peers in primary school. The School Attainment Report doesn't include special education schools.

The report is compiled from GOV.UK data from 2023's GCSE results, with Progress 8 scores indicating the amount of help each secondary school gave pupils to improve their overall grades. The average is set at zero, with scores above zero indicating a higher than average progress made. When a score is below zero, it shows that less progress has been made than what is expected.
