The 2024 general election takes place on Thursday, July 4, with many hopeful candidates standing to become their constituency's MP.
However, a large number of sitting MPs have confirmed they will not be competing for their seat again this year. More than 120 MPs have indicated that they will not compete for their seats in the 2024 election.
It includes some high profile politicians including Dominic Raab, former Prime Minister Theresa May, and Michael Gove.
