Eamonn Holmes is reportedly 'livid' over his separation from Ruth Langsford, attributing the public end of their 14 year marriage to strategic planning by the Loose Women star. The unexpected parting of ways was confirmed this weekend by their representatives. The shocking joint statement unveiled: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

It's now reported that the couple actually parted ways more than a year ago but Eamonn desired to keep it quiet while they attempted to mend their relationship. The news came out on Saturday after growing speculation with fans wondering about the couple, who used to be very close and worked together on This Morning, upon noticing they hadn't been seen together for months.

Friends claim that Eamonn has been facing difficult times behind the scenes and did not wish to disclose the news, reports the Mirror. The joint announcement is allegedly organised by Ruth, aged 64, with Eamonn refusing any involvement. "Ruth can do what she wants but keep me out of it," the presenter reportedly told his mates.

It's said that Eamonn is heated about the break-up after spending months striving to rescue their marriage. He claimed the split had substantially been designed by Ruth who was set on calling it quits.

According to the Mail On Sunday, one source acquainted with the Irish star stated that Eamonn would become 'intensely irate' when questioned concerning the reality of his marriage. "His language became really quite rude. He was struggling to accept it."

Another source revealed: "Eamonn's preferred way was not to tell anyone. Deep down he knew it couldn't carry on but he was kind of sticking his head in the sand. He is very upset indeed." With the news now out in the open, Eamonn is preparing to address the situation publicly for the first time as he returns to GB News on Monday morning.

The candid Eamonn is reportedly ready to open up about the changes in his personal life, understanding that his dedicated viewers are eager for clarity straight from him. "Eamonn is always frank on camera and knows it will be odd for him to discuss the day's news without mentioning his split so he'll say a few words," an insider informed The Sun. "He is putting on a brave face and will be the true professional he always is. Focusing on work will be a welcome distraction."

Mirror Online has reached out to the couple's representatives for a statement.
