The evil side of Gal Gadot's gallant Wonder Woman may be surfacing in the DC Extended Universe in the upcoming Flash movie.

The Israeli actress won the hearts of millions - even those heartless folk who make the Honest Trailers - in telling the inspiring story of Wonder Woman's arrival in the world of mankind this summer, but there is also a much darker side to the Amazon.

Name-checking Justice League and Wonder Woman 2 as Gadot's projects while reporting on her negotiations for the Bradley Cooper film Deeper, Deadline also indicates that she'll appear in Ezra Miller's solo Flash movie too.

Digital Spy has reached out to Gal Gadot's representatives for clarification on if she's actually signed up for The Flash film, which will be based on the Flashpoint storyline.

That comics storyline was written by current DCEU creative guru Geoff Johns, and imagines an alternate version of the DC Universe created when Barry Allen meddles in his own timeline.

On this earth, it was Bruce Wayne who was murdered in the alleyway, driving his parents to become mortal enemies as Batman and The Joker years later.

Another hallmark of Flashpoint is a vicious war fought across Europe between Wonder Woman's Amazons and Aquaman's Atlanteans over the assassination of Mera.

Both Wonder Woman and Aquaman are much more morally complex - one could even call the alternate Wonder Woman an anti-hero or villain for the brutality in which she decimates all opposition.

If Gal Gadot does factor into Warner Bros' Flashpoint movie, one could surmise that Jason Momoa may also be approached to reprise his role as Aquaman.

The Flash movie has gone through fits and starts over the last two years, with directors Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa both quitting in quick succession.

There has since been talk that Back to the Future's Robert Zemeckis was being courted by Warner Bros because of his proven track record with time travel/alternate universe blockbusters.

Gal Gadot will definitely be reprising her role as Wonder Woman in Justice League, opening on Friday, November 17. Watch a trailer below:
