Game of Thrones: all the questions for the finale

The season finale of Game of Thrones - titled The Winds of Winter - is only hours away and there are so many questions to be answered! After the battles in the previous episode, there’s still a lot to sort out. Let’s take a look at the characters - where are they, what’s their situation and what can we expect from them for the last episode?

There’s the group of Sansa, Jon, Ser Davos, Melisandre and Littlefinger. Who I’m pretty sure didn’t just help Sansa out of pure generosity. What do you think his plan is? I’d say, he wants to marry Sansa… but other than that? The other question is, what’s Jon going to do now? They took back Winterfell, killed Ramsay, and after everything they went through they would probably be happy to just stay where they are. But the White Walkers are coming…
Ser Davos finding the stag he gave to Shireen is definitely not a good sign for Melisandre. He is probably going to try to avenge her somehow.

Daenerys has been talking about going to Westeros for so long now that I don’t have faith in them actually getting there in the finale anymore. But considering their new alliance with Yara and Theon, it still might happen. Is Euron going to make a comeback though? And what could have Varys’ plan be? Hopefully we are going to get an answer to at least one of these questions.

Oh, the prestigious group in King’s Landing! What we are definitely going to see is Cersei and Loras going to trial. Taking away the chance for trial by combat actually surprised me but I don’t think this is how Cersei’s story ends. There’s the prophecy she fears so much - is Tommen the next one to die? Is there going to be a battle between The Faith and Cersei and The Mountain? Is she going to go to battle against her own son? Tommen might be completely brainwashed but Margaery probably has a plan. And they kept foreshadowing Cersei’s increasing desperation - is she going to fulfill the prophecy of the Mad Queen? We saw wildfire in Bran’s visions - is that part of the past or the future? Whatever happens, I’d say there’s a good chance of Tommen and the High Sparrow are not surviving the finale.

Speaking of Bran - there are so many questions around him, we are probably not going to get answers to all of them. But I think (=hope) they are going to address the question of the R+L=J theory. I would also love to learn a bit more about his power - how much of the past is actually influenced by him? And there’s the issue of The Night’s King coming after him as well. Anyway, he is accompanied by his Uncle Benjen who almost became a Wight previously.

After his comeback earlier this season, The Hound is back in action and heading North with The Brotherhood. How far North are they going to get is the question. Are they going to come across Brienne and Pod? Or Jaime and The Freys?

We shall see Arya’s next step as well. We know she’s leaving Bravoos but where is she heading exactly? Her storyline is so far away from everyone else’s at the moment, she should definitely get closer somehow.

There are a couple of other characters who we saw earlier in the season but it’s hard to predict whether they are going to make a comeback or not. It would be nice to see Sam and Gilly again but the episode already looks overpacked and they don’t have any urgent matters to attend to so I guess this is a long shot. And there’s the issue of Dorne… Considering it wasn’t a particularly successful storyline to say the least, I don’t think a lot of people want to see them but the Sand girls are credited in this episode.

And where is Gendry?
