It seems HBO can barely catch a break at the moment. After shows being leaked, or even accidentally shown early in some of its territories, it's now had a hacking group find its way into its social feeds before leaving messages for all to see.

HBO's social media accounts were evidently accessed by OurMine, a cyber team that has become known for hacking into online accounts of high-profile people and publications.

The words left by the hackers have now been scrubbed from the company's social feeds, but not before images of the offending messages could be captured (via BBC News):

"Hi, OurMine are here, we are just testing your security, HBO team please contact us to upgrade the security," reads one tweet put out by the security breachers.

The same message was published on HBO's Facebook, along with another that read: "Let's make #HBOHacked trending!"

On the face of it, OurMine is going about what's known as 'white hat' hacking, where people gain access to systems with a view to finding weak spots in security and advising on improvements – though this status as ambivalent operators has been refuted, citing the group's actions as nefarious vandalism.

Similar skirmishes by the OurMine in the past have targeted Buzzfeed, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the company behind Pokémon Go, Wikipedia's founder Jimmy Wales, YouTube, and more.
