Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams reveals Sophie Turner has asked her to be a bridesmaid

Maisie Williams has revealed she will be a bridesmaid when best friend and Game of Thrones co-star Sophie Turner walks down the aisle.

Williams and Turner developed a close bond when they began starring in the HBO fantasy drama as sisters Arya and Sansa Stark.

Turner, 21, is engaged to DNCE singer Joe Jonas and Williams gushed in an interview about how she’ll be part of the big day.

The 20-year-old told the Radio Times: “Oh, already got it. Yeah, it's very, very exciting. It’s kind of bizarre though."

But Williams will have plenty of time to get used to the idea as she revealed the couple aren’t even starting wedding planning until the final season of Game of Thrones – which airs in 2019 – has wrapped up filming.

Williams explained: “We're waiting 'til this season's done until we get into it. But I think she's already letting her little heart wander and imagine.”

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Jonas still has to decide on his best man with brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas the likely options.

Nick hinted that he would gladly take the role on but reminded everyone that he shared the role with Joe when Kevin tied the knot in 2009.

Turner and Jonas got engaged in October 2017, announcing their news on social media with an Instagram snap of Turner’s ring.

Turner uploaded a picture of her ring-clad hand holding her fiancé's with the caption “I said yes”.
