Gavin & Stacey star Mathew Horne has married his girlfriend Celina Bassili.

The actor, who plays the titular lovestruck Essex lad in the popular comedy series, and his set designer partner travelled to Oslo earlier this month to tie the knot on the 15-acre grounds of a 1930s mansion in Bassili's native Norway, according to the Daily Mail.

Horne, 43, and Bassili, 27, have been romantically linked since July 2019, when they were spotted kissing in Wales – around the time the former was busy filming Gavin & Stacey's most recent Christmas special with co-stars Joanna Page, Ruth Jones and James Corden.

Bassili is believed to have been involved professionally in the programme, too.

Around the same time, a spokesperson for Horne explained that he and Casualty star Evelyn Hoskins, who had been engaged at one point, had "separated amicably" the previous year.

In November 2019, Horne and Bassili went public with their relationship when they attended a theatre event in London together.

Fans have been itching for more Gavin & Stacey since Nessa (Jones) popped the question to an unsuspecting Smithy (Corden) in the latest festive episode. But there's been no concrete news as to whether it'll be back at some point in the near future.

"The next one will really be the last, final part," Corden shared back in December. "And that is a little too much pressure for my chest to take at the moment, if I'm honest, in amongst the anxiety of [this last year].

"If I had any notion of trying to make another Christmas special I don't think I'd be able to breathe. So we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But I promise you, we won't lead you over that bridge unless we think it will be worth the journey."
