It had been tipped the well-respected political journalist, 72, would be making a comeback to GB News on Monday September 6.
Mr Neil has not presented his show on the 8pm slot since June 24.
New reports have emerged suggesting the Scottish star won’t be back on GB News’ screens until there is a resolution among him and the team, according to The Times.
On Friday, GB News announced political journalist Isabel Oakeshott will host her own weekly show.
This will be alongside current GB news political reporter Tom Harwood and the show will be part of September’s re-launch.
Mr Neil revealed he was taking a break from the TV channel less than two weeks after it launched.
Previously, Mr Neil admitted the channel had a “rocky start”.
He said: “Before I take this break, let me say this: yes, we had a bit of a rocky start with the launch of GB News. We’re a start-up, they’re always a bit rocky these start-ups. But we are up and running as you can see, we get better every day and there’s clearly an appetite for what we’re doing.
“And in two short weeks, we’ve already built a loyal audience which has beaten all of our expectations, it’s often bigger than the other news channels and it’s growing.
“On behalf of GB News, I say to all of our viewers, thank you. We won’t let you down and you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
The Standard has approached GB News for comment.
