GCSE pupils were left confused and angry after taking the Edexcek Higher Maths exam yesterday (Thursday, May 16). Students from across England had to sit one of the eight exams scheduled for that day, and the Edexcel higher paper particularly seemed to distress them.

Following the test, several of them took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their frustration. One user wrote: "Whoever made that GCSE maths Edexcel higher paper deserves to be fired."

"Anyone else cry over that Edexcel maths exam today or was it just me," another added.

A third commented: "My chances of doing A Level Maths and getting a Grade 7 in maths after doing Edexcel's paper." The post had a picture of a downward arrow attached.

A fourth person raved: "There is a special place in hell waiting for whoever made that horror of a paper. Edexcel you will be dealt with."

Others posted about the question that left them most perplexed. "Me getting 20 per cent on the number of small empty jars in that Edexcel Maths paper slowly seeing more and more people get 7.5 per cent," said a pupil.

"If anyone is currently doing their GCSEs right now, what the f**k was that Edexcel higher maths exam today. I’m cooked I fear," a second stated.

A sympathetic user chimed in: "Someone is having a mighty evil laugh at Edexcel, poor students, paper 1 was a hit and run." "Me, a maths teacher, getting the last question on the GCSE paper correct with no help," a teacher jokingly added.
