Ex-Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers' former partner, Talia Oatway, has given an update on their son's health after experiencing "the worst week of her life".

The couple welcomed their son Oakley in 2022 and introduced him to their social media followers the following year.

The pair parted ways in December 2022, with Talia describing it as the "toughest 7 months of my entire life".

She disclosed that little Oakley was born with Apert Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting the skull, face, hands and feet, according to Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Last year, the mum-of-four shared: "Oakley has a long road ahead, this is a lifelong journey and it isn't going to be easy. But my boy, you have shown me how strong you are! You are brave and determined and I love you more than you'll ever know. I hope that by sharing our journey I can raise awareness and support other medical families."

She recently posted another update on Oakley's health for her social media followers.

Over the weekend, Talia revealed: "I'm not going to lie this week has been the worst week of my life. To watch my son be intubated, 2 surgeries in a matter of days, fighting sepsis, drain in his back, leaking fluid from his head, fluid resuscitation, blood transfusions, I am struggling here.", reports the Mirror.

"He is the strongest child. I really hope you guys can keep him in your prayers. We are waiting for the surgeon to make a plan he had another leak from the head again yesterday, which shouldn't be happening. I've cried, I've screamed, I've shut myself away. One thing I will be doing is keep pushing. I love you son."

Newcastle United footballer Kieran Trippier's wife Charlotte responded: "What a week this has been for our precious Oaks and his mum. My heart is hurting so much. Please keep Oakley in your prayers. Please god get my beautiful friends through this."

Talia's friend added: "Come on Oakley. Please keep this family in your prayers..

"They are going through what is every parents/familys living nightmare... So proud of you and the warrior Oakley is. Sending all our love to yours. Stay strong girl."

Talia has been open about her son's medical journey since his birth but kept her son's image and condition private until last year.

She explained: "This is OAKLEY. It has been the toughest 7 months of my entire life. I have been thrown into a medical world, with no forewarning, no time to prepare. Only now I feel like I'm coming to terms everything, finally coping with how I'm feeling, embracing our new normal. This is my beautiful son Oakley Bleu, he was born with a rare genetic syndrome called Apert Syndrome."

Talia explained: "Apert Syndrome causes the premature fusion of sutures in the skull, causing a different head shape. Syndactyly - fusion of the bones in the hands and feet). Cleft of the hard palate causing difficulties with feed and speech. Choanal stenosis (narrowing of the airway) causing breathing difficulties. Apert Syndrome often causes a global developmental and learning delay. (Oakley sleeps on a vent mask) and uses oxygen."

"I'm so proud of this boy, he has shown me nothing in this world matters but health and love. It has taken me a long time to get where I am but finally I'm starting to feel happy again. Son, you have two amazing brothers and an amazing big sister behind you. We have absolutely everything we need. Let's do this."

Talia is mother to Oakley and his brothers Romeo and Maddox with Aaron, and also has a daughter Sienna from a previous relationship.
