George Michael's housekeeper probed by lawyers after 'letting fans tour late star's home'

George Michael’s family have enlisted lawyers to probe his former housekeeper amid claims that she let fans tour his home following his tragic death last Christmas.

Nu Findlay, who worked for George for 17 years, has also been accused of “inappropriate behaviour” after two of the star’s fans befriended her after setting up Facebook memorial pages.

The fans, Sharron Thomas and Paul James, grew suspicious of Nu’s intentions after they saw that she had arranged a street party outside of the cottage where George died on his birthday on June 25.

Paul, 48, told The Sun: “I saw a female fan going into the cottage. I thought it was inappropriate.”

Online comments accusing Nu of accepting gifts from fans have also emerged, with Sharron, 47, claiming that she and Paul received abuse online when they raised their doubts about Nu.

Sharron decided to share her concerns in a letter to George’s 56-year-old sister Melanie, and she was soon contacted by the family’s solicitor.

She shared: “He said he was shocked if we have been treated in a disrespectful way — and George would be horrified by what’s happened.

“He said he would investigate everything fully.”

Nu has admitted to accepting gifts from fans and said of the claims: “We’re allowed to take anyone we want into the house. I’ve not taken any fans in.”

The housekeeper is currently splitting her work between George’s home in Goring and Highgate, North London, and his Oxfordshire cottage.
