Ghostbusters Cast Answer Boston Hospital's Call

The cast of the new Ghostbusters film have answered a call from hospital staff who made an appeal for them to visit a children's ward.

Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones have been filming scenes for the reboot in Boston's Chinatown and theatre district.

When staff at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center saw the stars, they put up flyers in the windows spelling out "Who ya gonna call?"

And that is exactly what the actresses did during a break from the set.

McCarthy and her co-stars turned up at the hospital in full costume and took time to speak to some of the ill children on the ward.

They even brought along props including their iconic proton packs.

The visit went down a storm with staff and patients alike.

The hospital posted a series of photos on its Facebook page and thanked the Ghostbusters: "Thank you again to the #Ghostbusters cast for 'accepting the call' from our very creative pediatric patients at Floating Hospital for Children!

Another post read: "Thank you for taking the time out of filming today to put a big smile on our patients faces!"

Ghostbusters is due to be released on 22 July, 2016.

Dan Aykroyd, who starred alongside Bill Murray and Harold Ramis in the originals, is reported to have already recorded a cameo for the film.
