Gillian McKeith has saved lives with her poo TikToks.

The 62-year-old celebrity nutritionist and presenter of hit Channel 4 series ‘You Are What You Eat’ was once dubbed ‘The Awful Poo Lady’ for getting dieters to empty their bowels, while she studied the content of their toilet in front of millions to highlight the effects of their dodgy diets.

While some mocked, Gillian became a phenomenon for poking her nose around people’s stools, forcing them to change their bad habits, and according to the star, her stool analysis is no laughing matter and has recently saved lives after she ventured onto video hosting service TikTok.

Speaking at the ‘Rise of the Footsoldier: The Extreme Edition’ screening at London’s Leicester Square on Tuesday night (31.01.23), she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: “It’s actually very serious. I have lots of people contact me saying it saved their lives or helped them in some other way.

“Medical doctors have actually said because of your indicators and what you look for you have actually saved lives.”

The mother of two - who has daughters Skylar, 28 and Afton, 22 with husband Howard Magaziner, 62 – insisted her own children "asked" for poop examinations growing up.

She added: “My daughters constantly asked me to check their poos back then, but it was a fun thing. It wasn’t meant to be a crazy thing. We always laugh about it.

“I do Tik Toks, on one of my daughter’s Tik Toks we did a whole thing about poo.”

Meanwhile, Channel 5 have announced the long-awaited reboot of ‘You Are What You Eat’ after 15 years, with new hosts Trisha Goddard and Dr Amir Khan.
