A gin festival is coming... and it's giving away booze

Juniper joy: The Gin Festival comes to London on March 23

We love gin. Like, we absolutely love it. Which is why when we found out the Gin Society was heading to Wandsworth for the first time this year, elation ensued.

Taking place at Wandsworth Town Hall on Friday March 23 - 24, all juniper lovers will get a free (yes free!) gin cocktail on arrival before going on a voyage of boozy discovery demolishing more than 120 types of Mother's Ruin. Sadly, it's not all free, but every glass on offer will only set you back a fiver. Reasonable, if you ask us.

As well as all the gin, the lovely peeps from the Gin Society will also be serving their wildly popular sloe gin and prosecco fizz, plus a cheeky selection of specials, but they refuse to tell us what's on offer (rude).

So what's going down? Botanical masters Fentimans (you must try their rose lemonade and pink grapefruit tonic) will be joined by resident DJ Dr Sid who will be blaring out all sorts of classic 1930s/40s tunes – if you're confused, he'll be taking you back to those decadent days when the gin cocktail was king. If you're old enough, you know what we're going on about.

Aside from all the above, partake in a load of gin masterclasses and learn about the history of the stuff in a series of special talks.

Cheers London. Cheers.

The Gin Society Gin festival takes place from March 23 to 24, 2018 at Wandsworth Town Hall, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High St, London SW18 2PU. Book tickets here.
