Giovanni Pernice's girlfriend Molly Brown has been spotted sporting a gold band on her ring finger, as she continues to stand by her dancer boyfriend amidst ongoing controversy. The 33 year old is currently under investigation by the BBC after receiving complaints from at least three of his former Strictly Come Dancing celebrity partners.

Despite the allegations, Molly defended Giovanni last month and the couple have recently returned from two luxury holidays in Dubai and Madeira. Molly has reportedly expressed her disbelief over rumours that Giovanni is difficult to work with, describing them as "bizarre" and admitting she feels "quite angry about it".

The dancer has faced controversy following reports that Amanda Abbington suffered PTSD after her stint on the show last year, which ended abruptly due to medical reasons. It was also reported that Amanda requested to view behind-the-scenes footage of their training sessions together.

The BBC is said to have launched an investigation into Giovanni after claims that three of his former partners had sought legal advice. As Molly was seen with the ring, a source revealed: "She's told friends how bizarre she thinks the stuff is that Gio's been accused of because it doesn't tally with the person she knows, a source said."

"Like many of his mates, she's been left quite angry about it and thinks those throwing around claims should either make a complaint or stop causing trouble. She's been a huge support to Gio over the last few months and he's been very open with his friends about how important that has been. He's not sure he'd coped without having her around," they told MailOnline.

On Sunday, the dancer took to his Instagram account to issue a statement denying any allegations of abusive or threatening behaviour. His post read: "To my dear fans, You will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week. Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name.

"Those who have followed my journey on Strictly Come Dancing over the last decade will know that I am passionate and competitive. No one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me. I have always striven to help them be the very best dancers they can be. This has always come from a place of love and wanting to win - for me and my dance partners. Thank you all once again for your continued love and support! Giovanni."
