Nadine Coyle has shared a moving and poignant throwback of Sarah Harding from the last time that Girls Aloud were in Newcastle, 11 years ago and eight years before the late star died after a battle with cancer.

When Nadine and bandmates Cheryl, Nicola and Kimberley announced they were heading back on the road for The Show tour, they vowed that it would be a fitting tribute to Sarah, who loved nothing more than being out on stage with the group, who shot to fame on Popstars The Rivals in 2002, before scoring a record breaking number of successive UK top 10 singles.

The Show dates kicked off in Dublin on May 17 and, this weekend it's Newcastle's turn as Girls Aloud take up residence at the Utilita Arena for three consecutive nights. And, a mere hours before she was due on stage with the rest of the band, Nadine took a moment to remember Sarah.

Sharing a photo of them together from their last visit to Newcastle, on Girls Aloud's Ten tour in 2013, Nadine wrote: "This was the last time Sarah & i were in this arena together!!! This was when we finished the show & stayed laughing in our dresses!!"

She added: "We are here again tonight & thinking about this time i was lucky enough to get to spend with Sarah!!! When they say love like there is no tomorrow, it makes so much more sense now!!"

Friday's Girls Aloud gig featured several tribute to Sarah, including a video montage in her honour, soundtracked to Whole Lotta History and her vocal filling the air for the opening of I'll Stand By You and her iconic 'walking primrose' line in The Promise.
