Glamping site in the Lancashire countryside with cosy pods, hot tubs and a chippy van

With the school summer holidays only a few months away, holidaymakers are already looking for deals on family getaways.

Whether you are looking for a short-term break of a more extended holiday, there are lots of options both at home and abroad depending on your budget and circumstances. If you are planning on a change of scenery just for a night or two, chances are a staycation in a venue not far away will be a popular choice.

Set in the beautiful countryside just 15 minutes from Blackpool, Stanley Villa Farm Fishing and Camping is proving to be a hit with parents. The award-winning site offers cosy pods and bell tents for families to stay in.

Some of these come with their own hot tubs, including the new Woods View Pods available from May 1. Each accommodation features its own fire pit, and every tent has a wood-burning stove.

But it's not just the accommodation that's drawing families in. The site, located in Weeton With Preese, Fylde, boasts a four-acre carp lake stocked with carp up to 20lbs+, farm animals for feeding times and talks, and a large grassy play area where kids can enjoy cricket, rounders, swing ball and more.

There's also an onsite shop selling local ice cream, hot chocolates and marshmallows for toasting on the fire pits. When staying at the site, visitors are welcome to bring and use their own disposable barbeques.

There is a food vendor available on-site on select Friday evenings during the summer months, often serving fish and chips, the M.E.N reports. Dates that have been confirmed for the food vendor include April 20, 27 and May 4 and 25, with more to be added shortly.

Dogs are permitted in the pods but not the tents (with the exception of guide dogs), and are required to be well-behaved and kept on a leash at all times.

The site has received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google. A recent review left just last week stated: "I stayed for one night with my son in the pod with hot tub.

"It was extremely spacious and very clean. The hot tub was also a great addition to the stay. Well worth booking."

Another review, from a family who visited over Easter, remarked: "We love it!!! Amazing time as always.

"The team go above and beyond to help! The chippy van was fantastic, the kids loved the egg hunt.

"And the weather was fab! See you in May."

Pods start at around £55 per night during off-peak periods, and tents begin at £85 per night. Reservations require a £49 deposit, with the remaining balance due six weeks prior to arrival.
