Glasgow M74 crash during rush hour as emergency services at scene

Glasgow motorists are facing rush hour delays this evening following a crash on a busy motorway.

The two-vehicle collision on the M74 occurred on the southbound carriageway near Rutherglen at around 4.50pm this afternoon (Wednesday, April 17). Emergency services attended the incident shortly after.

Traffic Scotland confirmed the cars have now been moved, however traffic remains heavy in the area as many drivers attempt to get home from work.

A statement from Traffic Scotland reads: "An earlier two vehicle collision is causing some delays in the area.

Both vehicle have been moved. Traffic remains heavy leading up to rush hour."

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
