A flight attendant has revealed what passengers 'should never' wear on a plane. Travellers may think there isn't any specific clothing rules or requirements when travelling by plane.

But a steward has advised people they should 'never wear shorts' onboard - and for a valid reason. Air steward Tommy Cimato urged people not to wear shorts in a video on TikTok, as reported by the Mirror.

Tommy, who boasts more than 450,000 followers on TikTok, warned wearing shorts could potentially pose a sanitary risk. He said: "Don't or try not to wear shorts when on an airplane. You never know how clean it's going to be, so if you're wearing trousers you're going to have fewer germs."

Sharing other advice for travelling on a plane, he said: "Do not ever push the flush button or lever with your bare hands. It's honestly just unsanitary and it's pretty gross, so when you flush use a napkin or tissue.

"Don't forget to drink water and stay hydrated! You're going to want about 16 ounces for every flight you go on."

Tommy added: "Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window. You're not the only person to do that and you don't know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.

"Don't feel afraid to let a flight attendant know you're feeling sick. We are there to help so if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag please feel free to let us know."
