Glasgow police stop multiple drivers with one HGV suspected to be 'overweight'

Road police officers stopped multiple drivers earlier this week in a crack down on vehicle offences.

Glasgow cops carried out a light and heavy good vehicle (HGV) check on Renfrew Road in Renfrew on Wednesday May 1.

They discovered a number of offences while patrolling the street including one driver whose vehicle was 'suspected overweight'.

Another motor was found with the trailer brakes malfunctioning.

Police Scotland wrote on X: "Officers from Glasgow road policing conducted a light/heavy goods vehicle check on Renfrew Road in Renfrew.

"Drivers hour offences detected, one vehicle found with the trailer brakes malfunctioning and one suspected overweight, in amongst a number of other offences."
