A Glasgow entrepreneur known for her hugely popular pottery painting events has announced she is moving to a new permanent spot in the southside.

Punts Pots founder Kirsty Punton, 27, took to social media to share an image of her new location, which aims to be more than a pottery painting studio, writing: "I’ve been keeping a secret, PUNTS POTS officially has a home in the Southside of Glasgow."

Punts Pots, which sees people able to enjoy painting terracotta plant pots while hanging with their friends, has led to Kirsty hosting events all across the country.

Now, she'll be able to host them in her own venue, she added: "I have been dreaming of my own arts space since I was a teenager, and it’s actually happening!

"A creative space for workshops, hangouts and connection - I can’t wait to show you what I have in mind."

Kirsty then thanked all of her customers and fans who have supported her over the past three years, adding: "Punts Pots is ready to bring colour into your life. Let the renovation commence!"

The entrepreneur, who gave up her job in the theatre to pursue her dream business, explained that originally she came up with the idea after decorating her own plant pots at home as a way of satisfying her need for a creative outlet.

She then expanded creating Punts Pots and tailoring events for people looking for everything from hen parties to hosting at the Dockyard Social, offering plenty of fun and hands-on coaching, plus tuition on how to make art that you can then take home.

Kirsty stated: "I never imagined that I would be a painter and now really want to share that with anyone who is interested. Our workshops are fun, and something a little different to do with pals - they sell out fast."

Speaking about the new studio, Kirstty said: "Opening Punts Pots as a real bricks and mortar space is a dream come true. I want our new studio to be a space for creation, but most importantly connection. As a culture, we’re so lacking in third spaces - places just to enjoy yourself!

"I hope by opening my doors perhaps the 'arts' will feel a little less daunting. I want to make Punts Pots a place for people to come together and feel welcome.

"I plan to work from the space myself and to offer my own workshops of course. But I’m also really keen to share the space with the wider creative community, I’d love to have a full calendar of different practices, pop-ups and people.

"Accessing arts space in Glasgow can be costly and time-consuming - I hope my studio will change that. Punts Pots should be an exciting events hub in Battlefield. Gate-keeping is OUT for 2024!! I can’t wait to get started."

We can't wait to see what she comes up with at her new studio, and we'll bring you a first look as soon as she's ready to open.
