A busy Glasgow road has been forced to close due to a gas leak.

Glasgow City Council has said Helenvale Street in the East End has been shut at its junction with Tollcross Road due to the issue currently.

It is unclear when the road will be reopened.

A diversion has been put in place for motorists.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "Due to a gas leak, Helenvale Street is currently closed to all traffic at its junction with Tollcross Road."
