A Thai restaurant in the city centre is giving away free desserts as it celebrates its sweet 16th birthday this month.

Rosa's Thai is marking the special occasion by launching a chocolate banana roti from Monday, June 17, and with every sale made 16p will be donated to charity Action Against Hunger.

Co-founded by chef Saiphin Moore, the eatery which has a branch on West Nile Street is in a giving mood as it celebrates 16 years in business on Monday June 24.

Customers with the name 'Rosa' or who have the same birthday will be offered a free dessert.

Guests can also sample dishes including drunken noodles, stir-fried aubergine with yellow bean sauce, chilli, soy sauce and sweet basil.

There are also plenty of thirst-quenching traditional beverages like the nam manao (homemade Thai lemonade); Thai iced tea (black, lemon or milk - with a hint of vanilla) and nam khing (spicy ginger with golden syrup) to choose from.
