Glastonbury festival-goers have been told how to avoid a £2.95 charge when withdrawing cash as the event.

Festival veteran Dan Thomas has shared a handy tip for festival goers who want to take cash out from an ATM at the vent. As the festival’s unofficial TikTok correspondent, Dan has supplied a plethora of tips for anyone heading to Glastonbury for the first time.

Dan is currently on-site for 2024’s iteration of Glastonbury, providing daily vlogs for attendees and those watching the festival from home. In a post uploaded to his TikTok page on the festival’s first day (Wednesday, June 26), Dan revealed how punters can avoid being charged at pop-up cash points around the first.

There are a number of ATMs around the festival site, located at San Remo, Pennard Hill Ground, Left Field, the Meeting Point at the corner of The Bandstand, and at the top of Big Ground campsite near to the Medical Centre and Worthy Farm itself.

A number of the ATMs charge a withdrawal fee of around £2.95. In his video, Dan said: “Glastonbury safety announcement. If you’re going to use these cash machines, do not, they will charge you £2.95 for taking out your own money.”

To avoid receiving the withdrawal charge, Dan shared a top tip for getting cash out for free. He continued: “Instead go to the Farmhouse and get your money for free.”

Most of the vendors, including food stalls, bars, merchandise tents and shops do take card payments. However, it’s always advisable to carry some cash just in case.

Dan’s video has been viewed over a massive 13,600 times, racking up 268 likes and 18 comments, at the time of writing. Below is Glastonbury Festival’s 2024 map, which indicates where you can find the ATMs by the ‘£’ symbol.
