Glen Powell Pays Tribute to His Dad Glen Powell Sr. on Father's Day: 'The Best Man I Know'

The 'Hit Man' actor shared a carousel of photos to Instagram in honor of his dad

Glen Powell is honoring his dad for Father's Day.

On Sunday, June 16, the Hit Man actor, 35, posted a carousel of photos with Glen Powell Sr., showing them spending time together.

Glen also proved the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as he and his dad were shown pulling funny faces for the camera and goofing off.

"Happy Father’s Day to the best man I know," he captioned the post, while also tagging his father's account.

Glen Sr. and wife Cyndy Powell got married in 1984 and started their tight-knit family soon after with the birth of their first child, Lauren Powell Whatton, in 1986. They had their only son, Glen, in 1988, and their younger daughter, Leslie Powell, in 1992.

And the actor is famously close with his parents, who have accompanied him to events, visited him on set and made cameos in nearly all of his films.

Despite not having any acting experience — Glen Sr. worked as an executive coach, while Cyndy was a stay-at-home mom — bringing his parents on set has become somewhat of a tradition. Even Glen's Hidden Figures costar, Octavia Spencer, got to meet them.

“I’ll never forget when we were working one day, during the cut, he introduced his family,” Spencer told DuJour in 2022. “He said, ‘The Powells are a traveling band. They come to all of my sets.’ They all laughed and lit up the room with their signature megawatt smiles.”

Glen also recently revealed the advice his parents have given him about romance during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. "Love surviving that long in this world is really tough," he shared. "I think you do have to have some tricks.”

“The thing they always tell me is, ‘You gotta find somebody with a sense of humor,' " the Anyone But You star explained. " 'Life is inevitably gonna have highs and lows, but you always have to have somebody that can see the silver lining, the bright side of things and just the humor, whether it’s good or bad.' "

Back in November 2023, Glen shared a slideshow of snaps of him and his parents at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. where his father had proposed 40 years prior.

"Quick trip to the foot of the Jefferson Memorial … where 40 years ago my dad proposed to my mom," his caption read. "Happy Anniversary, you two. Lucky to have your love in my life every day."
