Gloria Hunniford rushed to hospital after breaking bone in her face in fall
Gloria Hunniford has told how she had to be rushed to hospital after falling and breaking a bone under her eye.
The TV presenter, 82, was left black and blue after tripping over a rug and landing on her face, damaging a bone near the eye socket and hurting her leg.
She has now returned to Loose Women following the accident and said she “couldn't think of a nicer place to come”.

Opening up about her fall, Hunniford said: “I took it all on a very hard wooden floor, and it was all on my face. So I've cracked a bone under my eye, unfortunately.
"There's a bone around your eye that sort of holds the socket in place. And that is actually broken.”
“I thought, if I can get a Phantom Of The Opera mask I would have been fine, I could have had that,” she quipped.
Viewers were also shown a picture of Hunniford’s bruised leg, after panellist Jane Moore warned that it was “graphic”.
Hunniford said that after falling she also feared a blood clot.
“I was worried about maybe a clot something in the brain because a friend of mine had a similar fall… and I was very relieved to know I didn’t,” she said.
The star admitted the tumble had shaken her confidence.
She said: “I'm a reasonably confident person usually. I don't want to sit doing nothing, that's why I'm here today, but it does affect your confidence.

“Even in my own garden, steps I know very well. I'm petrified of falling again.”
