GMB's Kate Garraway shares "tough visit" to husband Derek Draper in hospital
Good Morning Britain's Kate Garraway has admitted that a recent visit to her husband Derek Draper was especially "tough", as he continues to recover from coronavirus in hospital.
Kate shared the update on Derek, who has been receiving treatment in intensive care since April, on today's (July 28) GMB, telling audiences that she's finding the situation increasingly "frustrating".
Following a positive update last week, Kate told co-host Ben Shephard: "It was quite a tough visit yesterday. He's had a tough couple of weeks. It's just frustrating."
The presenter went on to explain that it was her son's birthday and that seeing Derek was particularly "emotional". "What the doctors said to me was, 'Sometimes Kate, a day where nothing has gone backwards and nothing has gone wrong is a positive day'," she added.
Although embracing the positives of a "stable day", Kate admitted that she was "desperate" to see a "step forward" in her husband's condition.

"But it's always lovely to see him, so it's wonderful to have the chance to do that."
Derek's latest health update comes after Kate experienced a "terrifying" tyre blow-out while driving on the motorway.
"[We] had no choice but to call the police," she said after the weekend's accident, before thanking her "saviours" from Kent Police for rescuing the family.
