Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was forced to issue an apology after an interview with Noel Edmonds descended into chaos. The 75-year-old broadcaster appeared on the ITV show today to discuss his life in New Zealand.

In the interview, Edmonds revealed that he owns an English pub called the B***er Inn. GMB presenter Reid hastily told Edmonds to 'steady' himself - but the former Deal of No Deal frontman insisted his language was 'acceptable' and went on to repeat the term several times.

Reid then addressed viewers saying: "I’ll have to apologise for that just in case there are families that don’t think so." There were more antics to come later in the programme after Mr Blobby appeared as a special guest.

The pink and yellow character was reunited with Edmonds having featured on his former variety show Noel’s House Party. The show - which saw Blobby and Noel as a double presenting duo - began in 1991 and ran for 169 episodes before it concluded in 1999.

As Mr Blobby hugged Edmonds, he said he had a 'funny feeling' the character would make an appearance. Talking about Mr Blobby he said: 'He calls me most days. Hes not the most entertaining conversation! I feel sorry for him."

Out of the blue, Edmonds added: "The only thing that could be said about this, he makes Ed look slim", leaving the former politician open-mouthed at the insult as producers quickly cut to an advert break.

Viewers were left outraged at Noel Edmonds' GMB antics. Becca Madon said: ‘Noel Edmonds so rude. Absolutely no need to say that to Ed.’ Others remarked that Noel seemed like ‘hard work’ in the interview, and one viewer said: ‘Please make Noel Edmonds stop.’
