Gogglebox has unveiled a new pair of armchair critics who are the first Scottish cast members in six years.

Roisin and Joe were chosen after Channel 4 launched a dedicated casting team to find Scots, following complaints about the lack of then on the show.

The couple, who are based in Glasgow, will make their debut on Friday night (25 February).

The pair, who are aged 23 and 25, have been together for four years.

They moved in together at the start of the coronavirus lockdown and live at Joe’s family home as a couple.

According to Channel 4, Roisin "loves shopping, getting dressed up and socialising with friends".

Joe "loves playing video games, pizza making and spending time with Roisin".

It was announced last year that Gogglebox was looking to cast a Scottish family.

The issue had been flagged by Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross, who questioned the broadcaster about it during a Scottish affairs committee meeting in Westminster.

He said there hadn’t been a Scottish family on the show since 2016.

The hit series has suffered several losses in the last couple of years.
