Gogglebox's Dave and Shirley show off rarely seen son as fans all say same thing

Gogglebox icons Dave and Shirley have shared a snap of their rarely seen son and fans are shocked at how alike he and his famous father are.

The TV favourites have been a staple on the Channel 4 show since 2015 and film together in their home in Caerphilly, near Cardiff, reports the Mirror.

The pair have been together for more than 40 years - and share two kids, Simon and Gemma, who prefer to stay out of the spotlight and don't feature with their parents on the show.

However, the pair delighted fans as they celebrated Simon's huge achievement - completing the Newport marathon, with his parents cheering him on.

They shared a clip of Simon in action to their Instagram account and wrote: "Our son Simon running in the Newport marathon, go son he's all in black 26 miles in front of him good luck butt xxx."

When Simon crossed the finish line, his proud parents shared a message with their fans.

They said: "Well done son 3hrs 46mins massively proud get in there xxx." Gogglebox stars the Siddiquis shared their support as they commented: "Good luck Simon." A fan wrote: "well done to your son xx."

Fans were distracted by the similarities between Simon and Dave.

One said: "Looks so like his dad!! Well done." Another added: "I thought that was Dave." Simon competed in the Cardiff Half Marathon in October last year as his parents showed their support once again. They said: "Our son Simon running in the cardiff 13k, he's trained so hard well done butt,go and smash it."

The couple celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary just a few weeks later, with Dave posting a cheeky message.

He said: "Happy anniversary to my lovely wife 47years she deserves a medal." Back in 2022, the pair shared a photo of their daughter Gemma. Dave posted a tribute to the two special women in his life. "Respect to all women throughout the world # internationalwomensday," he captioned the shot of Shirley and Gemma.

Surprised by the rare sighting of Gemma, fans flocked to the comment section. "Gorgeous pic of mum and daughter," one wrote. "Beautiful photo, you must be very proud Dave", another said. One fan wrote: "Gorgeous Shirley, you are so brilliant, you make Friday evening."

The couple's daughter had bright cherry-red hair cut into a blunt cut with a full fringe. She smiled as her mum Shirley peered over her shoulder, wearing a red and white floral dress.

The couple joined the series nine years ago after being spotted by a casting agent.

Outside of their appearances, Dave works as a cleaner in a factory and Shirley works in retail.

The pair have two grown-up children, Simon and Gemma, and love spending time with their family in local pubs.
