Good Morning Britain viewers all voiced the same complaint just minutes into the show, with some threatening to 'switch off'. The morning news programme returned on Monday (July 1) with Susanna Reid and Ed Balls at the forefront.

As the presenting due previewed what they had in store for the morning, fans began to air their views on the coverage before the programme had even kicked off. A number of viewers expressed their annoyance with the discussion of football following England's triumph on Sunday night.

The Three Lions were triumphant on Sunday (June 30) against Slovakia after Jude Bellingham scored an overhead kick in the 95th minute during injury time, with Harry Kane then taking the score to 2-1 in extra time. And Susanna and Ed wasted no time in getting stuck into talking about it.

But viewers weren't happy with their commentary, as one viewer took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: "I don't know if it's me, but I just can't watch GMB when they TRY to talk about football. Susanna 'I should be on football focus' Reid and the rest of them. Awful. If I need my Sports fix, it's either BBC or SKY," reports the Mirror.

Another chimed in: "No worries BBC BREAKFAST it is for me then since it's ME ME ME REID ON WITH ED BALLS." Paired with a GIF of someone switching off the TV, another viewer grumbled: "@edballs and #gmb talking about football! No thanks!."

Another viewer added: "#GMB Reid and Balls are both babbling nonsense this morning," another added, as a fifth person commented: "We the majority of viewers are sick to death of all the sport on TV, England OK but all this other stuff horse racing, tennis, rugby just put it on ITV2, or 4, where it belongs."

"You could always turn it off or turn it over," a sixth viewer suggested, defending the show's coverage," as another added: "@GMB and @edballs and #gmb talking about football! No thanks!."

Sports reporter Nick Dixon then joined Susanna and Ed via video link to discuss England's victory against Slovakia. Contrary to the complaints, one individual noted: "A lot of England fans might have just double-checked that score this morning and are perhaps feeling relieved more than anything because, with 84 seconds to go in that match, it was all over for them."
