Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid begs Kate Garraway to turn down This Morning job
Susanna Reid has said she doesn’t want fellow presenter Kate Garraway to leave Good Morning Britain for another ITV show.
Garraway’s name was brought up in a discussion on the show about who might become the new host of This Morning, in the wake of Holly Willoughby’s departure.
In a chat with the Daily Mail’s Andrew Pierce and The Mirror’s Kevin Maguire about who might be suitable, Pierce said, "I’m pushing for Kate Garraway. I like Kate Garraway."

Reid, who was hosting the show alongside Richard Madeley, agreed with this sentiment, before adding: "Well, we don’t want Kate Garraway to leave. I think she’s especially talented and she’d be absolutely brilliant."
Looking into the camera, she said: "Please don’t go anywhere, Kate. This Morning: hands off our Kate."
This discussion was following the news that Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York would be hosting and guest editing This Morning today.
This Morning is yet to announce a permanent replacement for Willoughby, who last month announced she had quit the show after 14 years, making the decision for "me and my family".

However, there have been a string of celebrity guest presenters in recent weeks, including Rylan, Rochelle Humes and Cat Deeley, alongside regular hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary who have continued to present on their set mornings.
The ITV flagship programme will be without one of its other regular hosts for the next few weeks, as Big Brother winner Josie Gibson has joined the cast of this year’s I’m a Celebrity, with the first episode airing last night.
Good Morning Britain and This Morning air on ITV1 and ITVX on weekday mornings.
