The 2017 dates and themes for the Goodwood Breakfast Club have been announced, carrying on the traditional slot of the first Sunday in each month.

The event provides an opportunity to appreciate fine cars in the company of like-minded enthusiasts at the Goodwood Motor Circuit near Chichester - and the chance to partake of a hearty cooked breakfast, with ingredients sourced from the Goodwood estate.

The 2017 season starts with Supercar Sunday on May 7. It celebrates the pinnacles of automotive engineering – the supercars and hypercars from all over the world, as well as high-performance exotica of all varieties. Supercar Sunday aims to bring together some of the greatest cars the world has ever seen, so if you happen to have a Mclaren F1 that needs a few more miles on the clock, this is where you need to head.

June 4 has been designated Soft Top Sunday, specialising in the world of open-topped, open-air driving. Whether that be a canvas-roofed classic, a modern four-seater cabriolet with a folding hard-top or even no roof at all, as ever the variety of cars will be spectacular.

It's Classic Car Sunday on August 6. Goodwood will welcome cars of all types, shapes and speeds – as long as they were built before 1978.

There's a rather diferent vibe for the Breakfast Club on October 1. Sushi Sunday celebrates Japanese cars and motorcycles, standard or modified.

The final event of 2017 takes place on November 5, when it's Vee-Power Sunday. This theme encompasses anything with a V-configuration engine, whether V-twin, V4, V6, V8, V10 or V12 - even Volkswagen's V5. Expect aural delights to go along with the visual spectacle.

As ever, the event is not restricted to vehicles that correspond to each theme. You'll be more than welcome in any car, but particularly a classic.

There are no gatherings in July and September as Goodwood gears up for the Festival of Speed and Revival respectively.
