Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip fans have hailed the show as the new Top Gear as the series aired for the last time.

Italian chef Gino D’Acampo, foul-mouthed restaurateur Gordon Ramsay and French Maitre d' Fred Sirieix filmed the campervan trip round Spain some time ago – and it has now been confirmed there will not be another series, as the threesome have failed to agree dates and contracts.

Fans were delighted to see it air on ITV1 on Sunday and Monday evening and likened the presenters' antics to the hijinks of former Top Gear and The Grand Tour stars Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May.

D'ACampo has denied a feud with Ramsay and First Dates star Sirieix is the reason he quit the Road Trip show.

The This Morning presenter announced in March he was leaving the show, sparking speculation of a rift between him and his co-stars.

D'Acampo, 46, told Good Morning Britain: "The main [issue] was about the dates, trying to get the dates together. We tried and then we got the date and then they got cancelled.

"And then I thought, 'I don’t want to do this any more.' It got too stressful."

In 2021 D'Acampo revealed filming for Gordon, Gino and Fred's Road Trip had been delayed as Ramsay was working in the US.

D'Acampo and Sirieix have now announced they are teaming up for a new ITV show Emission Impossible, which will see them embark on an environmentally friendly food road trip, which aims to be as sustainable as possible.
