Gordon Ramsay won't leave his money to his children because he doesn't want to spoil them

You’d think that having a successful celebrity for a dad would be pretty amazing and that you’d be financially set up for life, however, Gordon Ramsay’s children would probably beg to differ, with the famous chef revealing that he refuses to “spoil” his kids.

In fact, the 50-year-old star is so determined to make sure that his children remain humble that he isn’t even going to leave any of his fortune to them in his will, nor will he buy them a home.

Gordon and his wife Tana are mum and dad to 15-year-old Matilda, 17-year-old twins Jack and Holly and 18-year-old Megan, and whilst they may enjoy luxurious holidays with their famous pals, the Beckhams, Gordon is keeping a firm hand on what they receive financially.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Gordon said that his children won’t receive his fortune in his will, explaining: “It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them.

“The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25 per cent deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat.

“I’ve been super lucky, having that career for the last 15 years in the US. Seriously, it has earned a fortune and I’ve been very lucky, so I respect everything I’ve got.”

The star is also proud to have raised his children to earn their own money as well as supporting charitable causes, continuing: “Tana came from a super set-up, and I’m just ‘educated rough’ from a council estate.

“So we meet in the middle and the kids bounce off both of us. They have a completely different life than I did growing up. I worked my a**e off to get out of the s**t mess that I grew up in and they’re grateful, they’re not spoilt.

The family still enjoy luxury holidays.

“Meg’s at uni and has a budget of £100 a week; the others get about £50 a week and they have to pay for their own phones, their bus fare.

“The earlier you give them that responsibility to save for their own trainers and jeans, the better.”

Well, it’s certainly good to hear that not all celeb kids are at risk of turning into brats, isn’t it?
