Grammys 2019: Alicia Keys shares video revealing she's hosting the ceremony

Alicia Keys will host the 2019 Grammys.

The singer broke the news on Tuesday by releasing a video in which she's told she has been picked as the next host.

In the clip, Keys can be seen looking incredulous, then rejoicing, before sharing the news with her loved ones, including her husband Swizz Beatz.

"We can make it a moment," Keys – who has earned 15 Grammy Awards throughout her career – tells him of her forthcoming hosting performance.

The video then shows her taking part in a promotional shoot for the ceremony – carrying out one of her first duties as host.

Last year, the Grammys were hosted by James Corden, as was the 2017 ceremony.

Keys's gig marks the first time in 14 years a woman will host the event.

The most recent time was in 2005, when Queen Latifah officiated as host.

The 2019 ceremony is due to take place on 10 February, 2019 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
