Yahoo News Grantchester renewed for season 10

Good news for Grantchester fans as another season of the mystery series has been officially confirmed.
The show will be back for a tenth season, with Robson Green (DI Geordie Keating) and Rishi Nair (Alphy Kottaram) reprising their roles. It will air on Masterpiece on PBS in the US and on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK (via Deadline).

"I couldn't be happier to recommission Grantchester for a 10th season," said Masterpiece executive producer Susanne Simpson. "This is hands-down one of our most popular series, and I know the fans will be thrilled to see it continue with the outstanding Robson Green and Rishi Nair back for more crime-solving."
It was announced last year that actor Tom Brittney (William Davenport) would be leaving his lead role at the end of season 8. His character's exit centred around a life-changing offer.
Season 9 has not yet aired in the UK but will see Hollyoaks star Rishi Nair taking over as the new vicar.

Discussing his new role, Nair said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining Grantchester. The welcome and support I've received from everyone has been overwhelming.
"The success of the show and the reason we are here for a ninth season is a testament to all the people that have previously worked on it. I'm really excited to get started and cannot wait for the Grantchester fans to meet Alphy and to see all that's in store for him."
Meanwhile, filming for season 10 is set to begin in the UK in July, with a host of returning cast members, including Al Weaver (Leonard Finch), Tessa Peake-Jones (Mrs. C), Kacey Ainsworth (Cathy Keating), Oliver Dimsdale (Daniel Marlowe) and Nick Brimble (Jack Chapman).
Seasons 1-8 of Grantchester are available to stream on ITVX.
