Yahoo News Gregg Sulkin Among New Additions To Spider Thriller ‘Arachnid’ From New Genre Label Badlands
EXCLUSIVE: Gregg Sulkin (Runaways), William Miller (The 100) and Melina Matthews (Warrior Nun) have signed on for roles in the spider thriller Arachnid marking the debut feature from Badlands, the new indie genre label from Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee’s Thunder Road, longtime Screen Gems exec Scott Strauss, and Andrew Schwartzberg and Jon Shiffman’s Renegade Capital, on which we were first to report.
As previously announced, Matilda Lutz also stars in the film, shooting overseas, which Ángel Gómez Hernández (Voces) is directing from a script by Jayson Rothwell (Underworld: Blood Wars).

In Arachnid, a man returns from a trip unwittingly harboring a new breed of arachnid. Subsequently, the people in an apartment block are quarantined and left to fend for themselves against a plague of venomous spiders.
Producers include Rothwell, Schwartzberg, Shiffman, Peter Welter, Alexandra Milchan, and Josh Weinstock. Altitude Film Sales is handling international sales, having introduced the project to buyers at Cannes earlier this summer, with CAA Media Finance handling domestic rights.
Perhaps best known for starring on Marvel’s Runaways, Sulkin has also been seen on series like PBS’s World on Fire, Netflix’s Pretty Smart, and The CW’s Pretty Little Liars. Next to be seen in Tyler Perry’s Six Triple Eight and European thriller series The Kollective, his most feature credits include indies The Throwback and The List.
Miller has appeared in Netflix’s Warrior Nun and The CW’s The 100, as well as films like Megan Leavey and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
Also seen in Warrior Nun and Megan Leavey, Matthews’ other notable credits include Netflix’s Iron Reign, the Penélope Cruz-Antonio Banderas starrer Official Competition, and Pedro Almodóvar’s upcoming The Room Next Door.
