Greggs warns customers visiting shops after 5pm in July and August

Greggs has made a big change to its loyalty scheme that means you can get freebies quicker. Greggs, which is renowned for its sausage rolls, steak bakes and more, is launching Happier Hours, which will allow app users to earn double stamps for all purchases made after 5pm.

The new promotion kick starts on Monday, July 8 at 5pm but won't last long. The offer will run for just over a month ending at 23:59pm on August 10. After 5pm fans will receive two stamps for every purchase made, rather than one stamp.

For every nine stamps collected customers can redeem any Greggs menu item for free. Bakery fans can cash your stamps in against any menu item so you could claim include a sausage roll, steak bake, yum yum, bacon roll, doughnut, éclair, cookie, ham and cheese toastie or potato wedges.

Those signed up through the Greggs app also receive a free drink when they sign up as well as a free sweet treat on their birthday. Greggs now has over 1,200 shops open until 7pm and beyond and to find your closest Greggs store you can visit the retailers store locator tool on its website.

It comes as the bakery giant is rolling out free sausage rolls for football fans. "We’ve enlisted the help of pundits Ally McCoist and Chris Sutton, so keep your eyes on Greggs socials the morning after the games for the latest post-match analysis – and more importantly, how many free Sausage Rolls we’re giving away!" it said.

"Throughout the tournament [Euro 2024] we’ll be turning the expected goals in England and Scotland games on its head. We’ll multiply the xG by up to 10,000 to dish out thousands of delicious free Sausage Rolls (or Vegan Sausage Rolls) exclusively on Just Eat orders over £15."
